Diplo Invests in Kombucha Brand JuneShine

Diplo is welcoming the summer by cracking open a can of JuneShine hard kombucha. The DJ joined a number of other celebrities to invest in the company, it was announced this week. Ashe, Whitney Cummings, YouTube star Cody Ko, US Women’s National Team’s Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger and Outdoor Voices’ founder Ty Haney are also among the celebrity investors. This funding comes as JuneShine kicks off summer and will facilitate accelerating growth across the US, increase production capacity, innovation focused on developing sustainable, transparent and better-for-you adult beverages, plus the development of new brick-and-mortar tasting rooms.

“I have always been into kombucha and I’m always looking for alternative beverages,” Diplo tells Billboard of his decision to invest. “As I’ve gotten older I’ve become much more aware and intentional about what I put in my body because it makes such a difference in my overall mood and energy levels. Last year I made hard kombucha my drink of choice because I feel better when I drink JuneShine.”

The San Diego-based alcoholic kombucha (6% ABV) boasts all the benefits of regular kombucha, including vitamins, antioxidants and probiotics, with no artificial coloring, GMOs, pesticides, processed corn or rice syrup. While JuneShine comes in a variety of flavors, Diplo shares that his favorite is the new Grapefruit Paloma flavor, because “it’s the most refreshing and perfect for summer.”
