Lizzo Joins A-Rod And Other Celebs Funding Apartment List’s Latest Round

Online rental marketplace Apartment List announced Wednesday the close of its new Series D round with $60 million raised. The San Francisco-based company more than doubled its valuation, reaching over $600 million, and added a diverse group of notable investors including Grammy-winner singer Lizzo, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, former MLB All-Star Alex Rodriguez, Philadelphia 76ers GM Daryl Morey and Chopra Jonas’ manager Anjula Acharia.  Acharia, also a venture capital investor and former partner at Trinity Ventures, who has helped introduce Priyanka Chopra Jonas to investing. The actress has now backed tech companies like female-focused dating app Bumble.

The online platform, which houses 5.5 million listings and has 30 million registered users announced that it logged a profitable 2020.

Daryl Morey, GM of NBA’s Sixers

Daryl Morey, was named president of the Sixers in early November, less than a month after he stepped down as general manager of the Houston Rockets.  Andre Iguodala, who played the first eight seasons of his career in Philadelphia after being drafted ninth overall in 2004, is a veteran venture capital investor. He’s backed more than 40 companies over the last nine years, including Zoom, Allbirds and Casper. Last February, he joined Comcast Ventures as a partner for its Catalyst Fund, which invests in startups led by underrepresented founders.
