V1 Sports, a maker of golf and baseball coaching apps, has secured investment from Black Cat Ventures, a golf technology fund owned by Michael Jordan.

V1 provides online coaching software; it recently launched its V1 Game golf app, which gives GPS course data and shot tracking analysis. The company reaches more than three million athletes and 10,000 coaches, offering voice-over lessons provided through V1 apps. More recently, V1 developed a pressure mat for golfers to measure the force and velocity of their swing.

Following the company’s start in golf swing analysis, V1 Sports launched a baseball training app backed by three-time NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw. The app lets players upload videos of themselves fielding, pitching, or hitting to receive personalized feedback from professional coaches.
