Fantasy sports startup Sleeper has raised $40 million in Series C funding led by the Silicon Valley venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. The round also included contributions from Sleeper’s existing investors, notably NBA stars Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson. Sleeper’s app doubled its user-base this year, now totaling more than 3 million users.

Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones, ESPN analyst Rosalyn Gold-Onwude, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin and NerdWallet co-founder Tim Chen are also existing Sleeper investors that contributed to its $40 million raise. Sleeper launched in 2018 and hosts season-long fantasy leagues for the NFL, NBA, college basketball, as well as League of Legends, the popular global esport.
