Michael Jordan’s Jordan shoe and apparel brand has signed an endorsement deal with the 29 year old New England Patriots cornerback and reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press. Gilmore said he and Jordan Brand have already begun discussing the design process for his custom cleats, and he plans to consult a few other athletes for ideas.
Though the company is mostly known for its basketball apparel, it has made inroads in football during recent seasons, including adding several NFL players to its roster in 2018, such as Le’Veon Bell, Jimmy Garoppolo and Tyrann Mathieu.
“To be signed with Jordan Brand, I feel like you need to have that certain swagger,” Gilmore said. “You have to know that you’re great on the field. You have to put the work in on and off the field.”
